What You Need To Know About Aesop's New Hydrating Serum

Australian beauty brand Aesop introduces a new skincare product, the Lucent Facial Concentrate, this month. The brand's General Manager of Products and Research & Development, Dr Kate Forbes, tells us why it's a great product to use in Singapore's humid climate.

Why the Lucent Facial Concentrate was developed

"We were looking to create a product that can be used on its own, is suitable for a lightweight humid climate, and do more than act as a moisturiser. We call it a layering serum - for people who don't have oily/combination skin, they can layer this on first (before applying other skincare)."

It's full of skincare benefits

"The Lucent Facial Concentrate ($145, above) is the latest product to join our Skin Care + range. People use this in their regime to give that extra benefit (to skin). It can be used on its own, particularly in this climate, for oily to combination skin because it has a really light finish while delivering Vitamins B3 and C (to protect skin from the damage caused by UV rays and pollution). For other skin types, they can use this in conjunction with another moisturiser (for greater efficacy)."

It's the result of intensive research

"All our products are developed in our in-house laboratory in Melbourne and take about two years to develop. We used rose, sandalwood and frankincense oils in the Lucent Facial Concentrate, and these were all selected because they can give something more to the product. For example, rose has hydrating properties and sandalwood has a soothing quality."

Why you should buy it

"It's the perfect daily moisturiser with a light skin feel that's able to give sustained hydration throughout the day."
