Beauty Review: This Clarins Facial Gives You Soft, Smooth Skin
Start the year with a relaxing, brightening facial at Clarins Skin Spa, which gives you soft, smooth skin and helps your face appear less puffy and lined.
By MOH SHUYING,
The treatment
This 75-minute brightening facial consists of three parts. The first is the skin prep, which begins with a relaxing dry massage using pressing movements on my shoulders, body and hands. My therapist then double-cleanses my face, before applying a gentle peel made up of a mixture of fruit acids and liquorice, which has skin-soothing properties. This is followed by a 30-minute facial massage using an anti-ageing, face-slimming cocktail (exclusive to the spa), which helps reduce the look of fine lines and drain puffiness. As a last step, the therapist applies three masks: a brightening and hydrating gel-cream mask for face, a firming balm-textured mask for neck and decolletage, and a hydrating cream mask for eyes. After 10 minutes, she removes them and finishes by applying Clarins skincare onto my face.
The verdict
This is a facial that not only makes you look good, but also feel good. Besides soothing me to sleep, the massages helped relax the stiff muscles in my shoulders. Immediately post-treatment, my complexion looked significantly brighter and my face appeared less puffy. My skin also felt softer, smoother and more hydrated. $250, Clarins Skin Spa (#05-05/07 Wheelock Place), tel: 6838-5060
