Beauty Review: This Oxygen Facial Gives You Brighter, Clearer Skin

The oxygen facial at Simply Aesthetics leaves skin looking noticeably clearer, brighter and plumper, with fine lines dramatically reduced.

The treatment

After a double cleanse to prep my skin, the therapist starts the Aqua Peel using a wand-like device that sucks and extracts dead skin cells while emitting water. This combination unclogs pores, removes surface dullness as well as boosts circulation. The Oxygen treatment follows with oxygen and an in-house “cell essence” serum – meant to hydrate and brighten – blasted into my skin for about 10 minutes on high pressure. At the same time, the therapist applies circular hand movements to boost absorption of the ingredients. Finally, two masks: the first, a thin film of azulene, or distilled chamomile, a formula that combats capillaries, redness and sensitivity. Slathered over it: a thick layer of soft collagen mask to firm and hydrate and left on for 20 minutes. The standard routine of toner, moisturiser and sunscreen followed after it’s peeled off.

The verdict

All worries of my sensitive skin being distressed from two back-to-back treatments were unfounded. My complexion looked noticeably clearer, brighter and plumper, with fine lines dramatically reduced. The best part: the effects lasted about two weeks. $400 for the oxygen facial; $650 with additional aqua peel treatment, Simply Aesthetics (#B1-28 Capitol Piazza), tel: 6384-2598
