I tried Biossance Squalane + Omega Repair Cream and it was so good for my sun-damaged skin

Loved by celebs like Queer Eye star Jonathan Van Ness and Lily James, this clean beauty brand Biossance has been enjoying some renaissance moments as more of us are seeking glowy skin as a true self expression.
For sure, if you ask me, glowy skin is totally seen as healthy skin! If your face is giving that lit-from-within vibe, it just means your skin barrier is good, you're probably hydrating, and you're not stressing it out.
But stressing it was exactly what I did when I basked under the scorching sun rays on Nai Harn beach in Phuket, Thailand last weekend, which led to dry, sunburn skin. It didn’t help either, that I didn’t reapply my sunscreen. So returning to Singapore, I sought out and started using my new tub of Biossance Squalane + Omega Repair Cream to fix all the damages I’ve caused to my skin.
But how does Biossance Squalane + Omega Repair Cream fair in skincare application? Here's my review.

The Biossance Squalane + Omega Repair Cream contains biomimetic ceramides and lipids to hydrate and improve skin barrier moisture retention within a week. The biomimetic ceramides work by activating our skin’s natural biological mechanisms by acting as ‘cement’ between our skin cells to minimise loss of moisture. Brilliant, isn’t it?
What’s even better with this formula is that it contains hyaluronic acid that continues to help deliver hydration and even squalane that's sustainably sourced from sugarcanes.
Clinical results are said to have shown 100 per cent in hydration within five minutes of use, and improvement in skin barrier moisture after a week so let’s see what happens after a week of using it.
First impressions
For a tub of 50ml, the price doesn’t come cheap but it does come packed with all the goodness that our skin needs, and it’s a well-worth investment. Upon swatching a dollop on my skin, I noticed that the luxuriously whipped cream has a smooth, milky texture to it which makes applying to the skin an enjoyable process, and none of that greasy feeling. It’s also great for different skin types, and for someone who suffers from bouts of eczema here and there, the cream doesn’t irritate the skin at all.

How to use Biossance Squalane + Omega Repair Cream
My usual skin type is combination but because my skin feels so dry right now, I have been using it day and night as my last skincare step after cleansing and toning. I absolutely loved the smell and texture; it’s got none of that strong fragrance or chemical scent but somehow I picked up a slight nutty tinge to it. The instructions say to apply to your face and neck, which I’ve done so religiously.
How the cream performs
Upon the first five minutes of applying, I do feel a slight bounce to my skin and the redness reduced. I could run my fingers on my skin without that tugging feeling. Within the third day, I noticed that my skin looked healthier and hydrated even when sleeping in an air-conditioned room. While my smile lines are still obvious, I do wake up every morning without that parchment skin and tightness.
What could be better
Gosh, the tub feels like a paperweight and it does take up a lot of space in my travel pouch. Perhaps a less heavier tub with recycled glass?
