Each fashion season, a certain trend emerges, and suddenly, we’re all captivated by it. This Spring/Summer season, the trending colour is butter yellow. Its soft yet warm tone subtly infuses an uplifting mood into your look.
The colour was featured on the fashion runways of Bottega Veneta, 3.1 Phillip Lim, and Jacquemus. Stars including Rihanna, Shu Qi, and Fann Wong have also been seen wearing butter yellow pieces in recent months.

Ready to embrace the trend and perhaps incorporate the colour into your makeup kit? Good news: this particular hue is less intense and not as warm as other yellow tones, making it suitable for most skin tones except olive, which tends to suit bolder and brighter shades better, according to Jenny Goh, makeup artist at 2AM Makeup Studio.
“For first-timers, butter yellow eyeshadow can be applied to the centre of the eyelids as the highlight of the eye makeup,” she shares. Additionally, makeup artist Lasalle Lee recommends applying a layer of concealer that’s one shade lighter than your skin tone over your eyelid to accentuate the eye makeup.

When incorporating butter yellow into your makeup look, Lee says there are no right or wrong methods. “You may apply it all over your eyelid for a fuller look or use a yellow eyeliner for a subtler finish,” he suggests.
For those concerned about their eyes looking puffy after applying butter yellow eye makeup, Goh recommends adding eyeliner and mascara for more definition. To complete your makeup, consider using other complementary colours such as orange, gold, lilac, light brown, and black.
The fine powder offers a no-makeup feel, making it a great eyeshadow palette for our hot and humid weather.
Formulated with organic jojoba, hazelnut and sweetbriar rose oils, this lip oil brightens, hydrates and nourishes your puckers without any sticky feeling.
Its creamy tone and glossy finish give a soft glowing and uplifting effect for your nails.
From its gel-like texture to strong stay-on power, it’s easy to understand why fans are falling head over heels for this eyeliner.
