Celine Rides The Beauty Wave With New Makeup Line, Celine Beaute
Lying at the heart of Celine Beaute, the first cosmetics line from the house of Celine, is a decidedly romantic notion: that makeup should be a luxurious ritual.

It might seem surprising for Celine to go into makeup – it’s completely new territory for the luxury fashion house founded in 1945. What’s not surprising is the attention to design and detail that has gone into the line, revealed in the film for the La Collection De L’arc De Triomphe Winter 2024 ready-to-wear collection, and available for sale from next month.
The Le Rouge Celine lipstick, the debut product of Celine Beaute

Hedi Slimane himself worked on the formula to achieve its satiny finish – a reference to the couture fabrics he loves – that’s said to be long-wearing, glide on effortlessly and keep lips feeling hydrated. The first shade to be launched is 01 Rouge Triomphe, a rich and versatile red. Besides boasting a light and creamy texture, it’s delicately scented with notes of rose and rice paper – an accord meant to bring to mind makeup from the ’70s and the powdery undertones signature to the Celine Haute Parfumerie line.
The Celine Beaute range features a variety of products, including lipsticks and nail polish.
Then there’s the packaging that – in true Hedi Slimane fashion – transforms the lipstick into a precious object. Inspired by French-style classicism of the late 18th century and the modern minimalism of Art Deco, the case for Le Rouge is a faceted metal sheath with the house emblem, the Triomphe, embossed on top – refilling it is said to be a synch. An accompanying black velvet pouch underscores how this is not your average lippie.
