Fancy A Parisian Cafe Moment, Courtesy Of Chanel?

Chanel is set to open a pop-up cafe at New Bahru later this month, dedicated to the world of its famous scent Coco Mademoiselle, and its latest addition, Coco Mademoiselle Crush Absolu.

Chanel

You know Coco Mademoiselle — that beloved Y2K Chanel fragrance that became a rite of passage for an entire generation of perfume girlies with its youthful, fruity-meets-sensual signature. Since launching in 2001, it’s gone on to become one of the maison’s most popular perfumes, spawning an entire Coco Mademoiselle universe along the way: flankers, body care, deodorant, hair mists and more.

Now, the Coco Mademoiselle family is getting another member: meet the Coco Mademoiselle Crush Absolu, the latest scent in the range. Think of it as the slinky black silk slip dress you reach for after dark to the original’s crisp white shirt — deeper, warmer and more amber-y, but still carrying that familiar Coco Mademoiselle freshness.

The new Coco Mademoiselle Crush Absolu perfume is said to be a deeper, warmer and more seductive take on the original Coco Mademoiselle, with an ambery richness that turns up the intensity while keeping its signature freshness intact.

The new scent will make its debut at Chanel’s upcoming takeover of New Bahru’s Alma House, which will be transformed into a pop-up cafe dedicated to all things Coco Mademoiselle, running from August 20 to September 13. The experience unfolds in stages, beginning with a gazette filled with stories and insights about the fragrance, alongside a cafe-style menu to get you in the mood.

From there, settle in for a series of films before heading to the discovery bar, where Crush Absolu gets its big introduction through its signature ingredient and an olfactory experience. You’ll then get a personalised consultation exploring the different interpretations of Coco Mademoiselle, followed by a scented ritual and hand massage.

Coco Mademoiselle is set to have its very own makeup range for the first time, and the first wave includes a nine-eyeshadow palette, a new lippie, as well a light pink nail polish hue. This new makeup collection will also be present at the pop-up for visitors to try out.

For the makeup girlies, there’s more to be excited about: Coco Mademoiselle is finally getting its own dedicated makeup range for the first time.

Highlights of the new Coco Mademoiselle makeup range includes the Les 9 Ombres, an eyeshadow palette with nine options ranging from soft golds to neutrals, a Rouge Coco lipstick named the Crush (a flattering lilac mauve, with the bullet itself engraved with Chanel’s iconic double C logo), as well as Le Vernis Coco, a nail polish that comes in a light petal pink.

This makeup collection will launch on the same day as the Coco Mademoiselle Crush Absolu perfume: August 19 (it’s Gabrielle Chanel’s birthday, wink).

And yes, you’ll get to try these new creations out at the pop-up through a bespoke Chanel makeup service. Finally, there’s the inevitable cafe-counter finale: a signature drink, a photo opportunity and a scented keepsake to take home. Let’s just say we’re very excited.

Chanel’s Coco Mademoiselle Crush Absolu pop-up will be held at Alma House at New Bahru, 46 Kim Yam Road, #03-03, from August 20 - September 13, 10am - 10pm daily (closed on Mondays). Entry is free but registration is required. Register for a slot here
