Review: We Tested Charlotte Tilbury’s New Concealer In Humid Singapore Weather
We tested out the TikTok-approved Charlotte Tilbury Airless Flawless Blur Concealer against Singapore’s hot and humid weather – find out how it fared.
By Lucy Lauron,
Charlotte Tilbury’s latest beauty innovation has landed in Singapore, and it promises to be the best full-coverage matte concealer ever. That’s not an exaggeration – it promises to be an 8-in-1 airbrushing concealer that promises to cover: dark circles, blemishes, puffiness, texture, pigmentation, redness, pores, and shadows.
It’s the latest addition to the innovative Charlotte Tilbury brand: a high-coverage concealer infused with skincare benefits. It’s infused with youth-boosting Phytoyouth essence, hyaluronic acid and squalane, moisturising the skin whilst giving it an airbrushed matte look.
On top of that, it also promises to be non-comedogenic, water-resistant, transfer-resistant, sweat-proof, humidity-proof, and lasts for up to 24 hours. Basically: it’s an airbrush tool IRL that’s built to be indestructible – or is it?
Here’s our review of Charlotte Tilbury’s Airless Flawless Blur Concealer after wearing it through Singapore’s heat and humidity.
FIRST IMPRESSIONS
I’ve got oily and textured skin, so a concealer that won’t melt off my face under the heat and humidity and look good all day is a pretty herculean task. After seeing how much American and European influencers and publications loved it, I was pretty excited to try this out. My first impression of the Airless Flawless Blur Concealer: beautiful.
Using shade 6, I dotted the product on my blemishes and acne scars on my forehead, nose and chin, and blended it out with a sponge puff.
It covered everything - my redness, acne spots and scars, and areas with discolouration. With such a full-coverage concealer, a little goes a long way. A single swipe from the applicator onto the back of my hand was enough to cover all my blemishes (and I have plenty).
Out of 34 shades, shade 6 was a great colour match (although I found it a tad too warm). It’s also very lightweight. For how full-coverage and matte it is, I didn’t even feel it on my face.
THE 12-HOUR WEAR TEST: CAN THE AIRLESS FLAWLESS BLUR CONCEALER TAKE THE HEAT?
I wore it for 12 hours straight, from 12.30pm to 12.30am, on a full day out for a cafe date, a movie, dinner and drinks, and gelato. Here’s what it looked like after the first hour.
For the first few hours, it was hitting every base as full coverage, airbrushed perfection. I spent 12 hours running around the Bugis area: I had a matcha strawberry at Haus Cafe, grabbed lunch, caught Marty Supreme at the newly-opened Filmhouse, grabbed tea for a movie debrief, followed by a hawker dinner, and finally, a gelato run.
Long story short: it unfortunately did not survive the heat and humidity throughout the whole day. For the first six hours, it held up beautifully. However, past that halfway mark, I noticed that it was starting to get cakey around my nose and was clinging to the dry spots around my mouth and blemishes.
How the concealer fared after 10 hours (on right) and after 12 hours (on right).
By the 10-hour mark, it had settled into my pores and cracked around my nose and chin, and by the end of my day, it had begun to melt off from those same areas. That said, it held up on my forehead and cheeks, where I had little to no blemishes and far less texture.
FINAL THOUGHTS
Unfortunately, this concealer did not last through Singapore’s weather on very textured skin. For those with clearer skin, this concealer would probably fare much better, as evidenced by it being intact on my forehead and cheeks. While it does achieve the ‘airless flawless blur’ in its name, it can’t hold up for a full day against Singapore’s heat and humidity.
