Finally, a makeup collection dedicated to night owls! The Rouge Allure Velvet Nuit Blanche collection features eight colours that, interestingly, are inspired by the wee hours from midnight onwards. For instance, midnight is represented by a sienna red, 1:00 am by a brick orange, 2:00 am by an orange-red, and so on until dawn at 7:00 am (a fresh pink to perk things up, presumably). This limited edition range stands out with its striking white cases adorned with black trimming.

DIOR FOREVER ADDS COLOUR COSMETICS TO ITS RANGE

Dior
2/10

Two new products are joining Dior's beloved Forever family. First up is the Dior Forever Glow Maximiser, a liquid shimmery highlighter available in six colours ranging from soft pink to bronze. It boasts a substantial concentration of pearlescent particles, constituting 11 per cent of the formula. These particles reflect light upon application to the skin, delivering intense satiny radiance. The Maximiser can be applied anywhere on the face, maximizing its versatility.

The other new product is the Dior Forever Skin Glow Tone-up Cushion, designed to add hydrating radiance and colour correction for dull complexions. It is said to offer 24 hours of hydration and correction, instantly smoothing the complexion, blurring imperfections, and addressing dull undertones for a radiant finish. With two shades designed for different skin types, it can be worn alone or as a skincare step in a makeup routine, providing a fresh, lightweight texture. Utilizing colourimetry science, the Rosy Lilac shade corrects yellowish undertones, while the Apricot Blossom shade brightens greyish complexions. Infused with iris extract for comfort and SPF 45 PA++ for UVA/UVB protection, this on-the-go cushion is perfect for quick touch-ups throughout the day. Both shades come with embroidered cannage cases in matching colours.

The Dior Forever Glow Maximiser ($78 each) and Dior Forever Skin Glow Tone-Up Embroidered Cannage Cases in Beige and Pink ($50 each) and Refills in Apricot Blossom and Rosy Lilac ($77 each) are now available at all Dior Beauty boutiques, counters and online store

HERMES BEAUTY GOES ULTRA POP FOR SPRING SUMMER 2024

Hermes

It's a colour party with Hermes Beauty's Spring Summer 2024 range - an intensely coloured limited edition trio is joining the maison's signature Rouge Hermes lipstick family. There's 41 Rose Pop (left), a hot matte pink, 47 Rouge Cinetique (middle) a deep matte red, and 44 Orange Neon (right), a fluorescent orange. “With the Rouge Hermès spring-summer 2024 limited-edition collection, we explore colour in its purest expression. The shades are rich, generous and bold. Applied to the lips, they illuminate the face with their matte, light-absorbing finish and attract attention with their temperament, both joyous and assertive. A true style statement,” says Gregoris Pyrpylis, creative director of Hermes Beauty. And of course, the cases also come in a chic colour-blocked version to reflect that play on colours, thanks to the artful eye of Pierre Hardy, the maison’s creative director for jewellery and its beauty objects.

KIEHL'S NOW HAS A GENTLE ACID EXFOLIANT

Kiehl's
4/10

An acid exfoliant is always a great way to smooth out the skin, especially if you need to look extra good the next day and Kiehl's has just come up with its take on the category with its new Clearly Corrective Daily Re-Texturising Triple Acid Peel. The serum takes a multi-blend approach; it contains several different types of acids to (gently) smooth out the skin. It's formulated with 5.5 per cent AHAs (Glycolic Acid and Lactic Acid), 0.18 per cent BHA (Salicylic Acid), and 3.0 per cent PHA (Gluconolactone) to help reduce the appearance of pores, boost skin’s radiance, and create visibly softer and smoother skin texture.

If you're a fan of Kiehl's Clearly Corrective Dark Spot Solution, the brand suggests using the Daily Re-Texturizing Acid Peel serum first. The latter will assist the Dark Spot Solution in penetrating deeper into the skin, thereby enhancing its effectiveness.

The Kiehl's Clearly Corrective Daily Re-Texturising Triple Acid Peel ($88 for 30ml) is now available at all Kiehl's boutiques and online store

Available in six sheer shades ranging from clear to pink and brown, Gloss a Levres imparts a subtle color tint that reportedly complements all skin tones. Infused with a potent combination of lip care and plumping ingredients, the formula helps to volumise and smooth lips, ensuring hydration for up to eight hours. LA MER'S MIRACLE BROTH JUST GOT EVEN BETTER

La Mer
7/10

The Genaissance de la Mer Serum Essence is La Mer's latest and most luxurious serum: for starters, it's powered by 2X Crystal Miracle Broth for accelerated renewal and visible transformation of the skin. You're probably familiar with Miracle Broth, the ingredient that's at the heart of the brand's best-selling products (it's a proprietary blend of sustainably harvested giant sea kelp, vitamins, minerals and other nutrients) - here however, the brand has elevated this ingredient to its purest and most concentrated form, called 2X Crystal Miracle Broth to provide accelerated renewal for a refined look to one's skin.

The serum reportedly enhances radiance by 30 per cent and elasticity by 20 per cent from the first use, though the best results are seen in approximately four weeks. Inspired by nature's symmetry, the serum utilizes Crystal Miracle Broth to reinforce skin's micro-symmetry, achieving holistic anti-aging transformation.

Curious to try out this new serum? Get a taste of it through the Genaissance Facial at La Mer's newly opened space at Ion Orchard (#B1-17/18), which combines both a spa and store. The facial is said to be the brand's most luxurious, multi-sensorial treatment and targets all visible signs of ageing through a deeply relaxing massage session.

The Genaissance de la Mer Serum Essence ($1,420 for 30ml) is now available at all La Mer stores

DIOR IMRPOVES ITS DIORSNOW RANGE

Dior
8/10

Leveraging 20 years of scientific expertise in epigenetics and floral science, Dior has consistently incorporated the eternal white flower, edelweiss, into its products. In 2024, Dior's research unveils new potential in this flower and the brand has reformulated several key products thanks to new research.

The Diorsnow Essence of Light Serum (the star product of the Diorsnow range) has now been improved with the addition of a new vitamin C derivative, ethylated ascorbic acid, and the inclusion of dipotassium glycyrrhizate, both of which help to address excess sebum and skin discomfort. This iconic treatment not only improves overall skin quality but also targets specific concerns such as dark spots and acne. It's also more mattifying now, which makes it a great candidate for those with oily skin.

The brand has also enhanced the Diorsnow UV Shield and UV Shield Tone Up products. Both sunscreens are tailored for urban lifestyles, featuring high-performance, sensory formulas comprising 77 percent and 78 percent natural ingredients, respectively. Offering daily skincare and protection, they guard against UVA and UVB rays, resisting humidity without affecting makeup. The Tone Up variant comes with a rosy tint for a healthy glow, and both are enriched with Diorsnow brightening complex and edelweiss extract. These ingredients are said to reduce yellow undertones by 31 percent in a month and enhance skin radiance.

The new Diorsnow Essence of Light Serum ($205 for 30ml, $275 for 50ml), Diorsnow UV Shield Tone Up SPF 50+ PA+++ ($105 for 30ml) and Diorsnow UV Shield SPF 50+ PA++++ ($105 for 30ml) are now available at all Dior Beauty boutiques, counters and online store

THE CHANEL SUBLIMAGE COLLECTION GETS A GLOW UP

Chanel

Chanel's most premium skincare range, Sublimage, has just been improved. The Sublimage La Lotion Supreme for instance, is now relabeled as Sublimage La Lotion, and it boasts a new and improved formula that features an even higher concentration of polyfractioned Vanilla Planifolia (the range's signature ingredient that's said to increase cell regeneration threefold) and is enriched with Vanilla Planifolia milk, a novel active ingredient that has soothing benefits. La Lotion is a milky emulsion designed to soothe the skin and prep it for other steps in one's routine.

The Sublimage Le Fluide is another product that has received an upgrade. The updated formula now offers mattifying benefits, regulates sebum production, diminishes excess shine, and contributes to pore tightening. If you're seeking a lightweight anti-ageing moisturiser, this might be it.

The Chanel Sublimage La Lotion ($239 for 125ml) and Sublimage Le Fluide ($491 for 50ml) is now available at Chanel Fragrance and Beauty boutiques and online store

A SINGAPORE LABEL MAKES ITS DEBUT

Jing Botanics
10/10

There's a new skincare label in Singapore: Jing Botanics, which positions itself as a brand that integrates traditional Chinese medicine with cutting-edge beauty science. The brand has just debuted, and unlike most labels that come with an overload of options, they're choosing to be hyper-focused, launching with two items: the Revitalising Hair and Scalp Serum, and a stylish gua sha comb to promote blood circulation and enhance the absorption of the serum.

The serum is described to be a potent and lightweight treatment designed to nourish the scalp, reduce hair fall, and promote healthy hair growth. The key component of the formula is a therapeutic botanical complex featuring 18 herbal and plant extracts inspired by traditional Chinese medicine, incorporating ingredients like Ginseng, Ginger, He Shou Wu, Dong Quai, and Heartleaf for their nourishing, soothing, and stimulating properties. The inclusion of probiotics, biotin, hyaluronic acid, and niacinamide enhances the scalp microbiome, fortifies hair roots, and retains moisture, contributing to overall hair health.

“Balance is a fundamental concept of traditional Chinese medicine and is at the heart of everything we do at Jing Botanics – between Eastern and Western approaches to beauty, between nature and science, between the time-tested traditions and the modern beauty,” says Ivan Cheng, co-founder of Jing Botanics.

The brand is also doing its bit to be environmentally conscious – it allocates US$1 (S$1.34) from every sale of The Revitalising Hair and Scalp Serum towards reforestation initiatives in Asia, such as the non-profit organisation One Tree Planted.

The Jing Botanics Revitalising Hair and Scalp Serum ($68 for 40ml) is now available on the brand's website
