While it may be hard to top the Bleu De Chanel short film directed by the legendary Martin Scorsese featuring the previous ambassador Timothee Chalamet in 2024, Chanel just unveiled a new campaign film proving everyone wrong.
The latest Bleu De Chanel short film stars internet heartthrob and recently anointed Bleu De Chanel ambassador Jacob Elordi, who’s known for his roles as the Creature in Oscar-winning gothic horror film Frankenstein and most recently as Heathcliff in Emerald Fennel’s book-to-movie adaptation of Wuthering Heights.

Written and directed by five-time Academy Award winner and Mexican filmmaker Alfonso Cuaron, the campaign’s short film – titled The Chase – is one of many collaborations Chanel has had with world renowned filmmakers. What makes this one special however, is the fact that it’s Chanel’s first action film celebrating a fragrance.
It’s drenched in a blue, nocturnal aesthetic and has Elordi front and centre, playing a mysterious man in pursuit of a masked femme fatale. What they’re fighting over? A bottle of the coveted Bleu De Chanel L’exclusif stolen from a safe right under Elordi’s nose.
The pair embark on an action-packed cat-and-mouse nighttime chase – that’s seemingly a part tango – with stunts and flips performed as Elordi chases down the woman to obtain the bottle of Bleu De Chanel L’exclusif. While sensual at times, the short film shows us a side of Elordi we’ve not yet seen – his ability to take on an action role. It’s a pretty timely coincidence considering the rumours that have been swirling around regarding his possible role as the new James Bond.
This thrilling new short film comes just slightly over a month after Elordi was announced as Bleu De Chanel L’exclusif’s newest ambassador. It’s a full circle moment, with Elordi starring in a Chanel N5 campaign alongside his Wuthering Heights costar Margot Robbie not too long ago in 2024.
Created by perfumer Olivier Polge in 2025, the Bleu De Chanel L’exclusif has notes of citrus, aromatic accord, cedar and sandalwood – a key extract prized in Chanel fragrances. It’s an intense woody, ambery aromatic that dries down into sandalwood and cistus labdanum.
Bleu De Chanel L’exclusif is priced at $268 (60ml), $377 (100ml), $495 (160ml). Get it from Chanel Fragrance and Beauty boutiques, all Chanel Fragrance and Beauty counters, and on the Chanel official Fragrance and Beauty online store.
