This Pixi Lip Blush Looks Like a Marker, But It Actually Works
Lightweight, long-lasting, and shaped like a marker—Pixi’s new Lip Blush promises an easy tint with zero stickiness. But does it live up to the hype? We put it to the test.
By Sarah Adriana,
PIXI Beauty’s latest launch is all about beauty that works with your lifestyle, not against it. In a time when rising temps and sticky humidity are the norm (especially in Singapore), the brand’s new lineup couldn’t be more timely. Think minimal effort, maximum payoff with products that keep you looking fresh and polished from day to night without melting, smudging, or fading by lunchtime.
One of the standouts from the range? The PIXI Lip Blush - a lightweight, water-based stain that promises long-lasting colour in a lineup of five wearable shades: Youth (pastel pink), Purity (soft nude), Beauty (sophisticated rose), Happiness (vibrant berry), and Love (a true red). It's designed to glide on like a marker and wear like a tint, leaving behind a sheer flush of colour that sticks around without stickiness.

For me, lip products are non-negotiable. I always reach for something to give my lips life. The ideal formula? One that’s comfortable, low-maintenance, and can hold its own through coffee runs, meetings, or just daily wear. Lip stains have been making a quiet comeback lately, thanks to their effortlessness and soft, natural finish. And with the heat creeping up, a creamy lipstick or heavy gloss just doesn’t make the cut anymore.
So how does the PIXI Lip Blush fair in makeup application? Does it deserve a spot in your everyday kit? Here’s my review:
What the Pixi Lip Blush does
Think of it as a lip stain disguised as a marker pen. The Pixi Lip Blush is a water-based formula that goes on light but delivers impressive colour payoff. It's made to stay put without the need for constant mirror checks, and it's spiked with humectants and Vitamin E to prevent your lips from drying out while wearing it. In short: hydration meets longevity, without the usual sticky gloss aftermath.
First Impressions
At first glance, the Pixi Lip Blush looks like something you'd find in a stationery drawer - slim, precise, and vaguely familiar. The packaging is sleek, compact, and dare I say, kind of fun. That felt-tip applicator gives major nostalgia, like colouring in your lips with a highlighter or a marker (in a good way). The tip is sharp enough for precision but soft enough to glide easily. I tested it in the shade Beauty, a punchy, bold pink I wouldn’t usually reach for, but it landed more wearable than expected. Slightly playful, surprisingly flattering.

How to use the PIXI Lip Blush
Versatility is the Lip Blush’s strong suit. Use the tapered tip to line the lips for a sharper edge like a lip liner or fill them in fully for a stained, diffused finish. You can even layer it under a balm or gloss if you want to dial up the dewiness. Pro tip: try outlining with a darker shade, then fill in with a lighter one for a DIY ombre moment that's been trending on social media.
How the Lip Blush performs
Once it’s on, it doesn’t move, and it doesn’t feel like anything either. No waxy coating, no sticky residue, no weight. The pigment melts into your lips and sets into a natural-looking stain that wears comfortably through the day. The Vitamin E and humectants work overtime to keep your lips soft, which makes this feel more skincare-adjacent than your typical matte lipstick.
What could be better
It works, and it works well - but the scent throws me off. There’s a faint synthetic note that doesn’t quite match the clean, fresh aesthetic of the rest of the product. It’s not overpowering, but it’s there. If you’re sensitive to fragrance, you might hesitate. That aside, it’s a solid stain with everyday ease and minimal effort.
