Beauty Review: This Indulgent Massage Will Leave You Feeling Utterly Relaxed
The Calla massage uses a mixture of Eastern and Western techniques to soothe tired, stiff muscles.

The Treatment
The therapist begins the 90-minute treatment with a dry massage using pressing motions which supposedly “loosens” bones and relaxes muscles. After about 10 minutes, she then applies oil to her hands to start the main part of the full body massage, which includes a mixture of traditional finger point pressure, lymph node movement using long and firm strokes and swedish massage techniques, which all work together to help get rid of toxins and relieve knots and muscle tensions. The therapist then cleanses her hands of oil and as a final step, I am treated to a very thorough head massage using rolling motions and finger pressure.
The Verdict
This is probably one of the most comprehensive massages I have ever tried. The combination of the different eastern and western techniques left me feeling not only relaxed, but also lighter and fresher after the treatment. One thing to note: the spa is unisex and has many common areas that you might have to pass through without being fully dressed on your way to the treatment room. It’s good to be mentally prepared of this before you go so it’s not a surprise. $248, Calla Spa, #01-500/504 Suntec City Mall Tower 2, tel: 6336-2552
