Red, pink or orange — which cushion foundation is worth getting?

If you have a social media account and love K-beauty, you’ve heard of the brand TirTir. The brand went viral on TikTok two years ago for its original Red Fit Cushion foundation, and was one of the first South Korean beauty brands to truly cater to all skin tones and shades. Seriously, the original red cushion has over 40 shades that even cater to three types of undertones: warm, cool, and neutral.

With the brand recently announcing BTS’s V as its new global ambassador — while holding the original red cushion, no less — all the more reason to try the brand’s hero products. So, which type of cushion foundation should you be getting? Here’s my honest review of three of TirTir’s cushion foundations: the original red Red Fit Cushion, the pink All-Cover Cushion, and the orange AI Filter Cushion.

MASK RED FIT CUSHION

About the cushion: This was TirTir’s first type of cushion foundation and was the one that started it all in 2023. It promises over 72 hours of wear and 3-in-1 skin benefits of UV protection, hydration and flawless coverage. With its satin finish, think of it as an in between of matte and glowy – a powdery look with a natural-looking shine.

How it performs: It has amazing coverage and truly lasts for hours even under Singapore’s sun and high humidity. This was pretty mind-blowing as I tend to sweat a lot, and my foundation did. Not. Move. That said, it does oxidise and turn orange after around two hours of wear. A workaround is buying a cushion that’s one to two shades lighter than your skin tone, however, this might only work for those with warmer undertones since it starts to turn orange over time.

MASK FIT ALL-COVER CUSHION

About the cushion: Like the red cushion, the pink cushion also promises 72-hour This full-coverage matte cushion promises buildable yet lightweight coverage and 72-hour long hydration. Out of all of TirTir’s cushion foundation types, this is the brand’s most matte finish.

How it performs: Compared to the red cushion, it felt lighter on my skin even with its higher coverage. That said, its finish is exactly as promised: it is very high coverage while still feeling weightless on my skin, and so matte. A little too much, in my opinion. I have a lot of texture (small breakouts and large pores) and under natural and indoor lighting, my texture was very obvious. Basically: matte lovers would be obsessed with the finish and feel, however, it’s not great for those with very textured skin. As for whether it’s transfer-proof, again, there was absolutely no movement.

MASK FIT AI FILTER CUSHION

About the cushion: Like the red and pink cushions, this orange one also promises 72-hour wear. The orange cushion is a medium coverage, lightweight foundation with a satin finish. Its main difference is its finish: it claims to be more blurring to give off a filter-like, smooth and poreless texture. It’s also infused with niacinamide and Vitamin C and aims to blur and reduce pores simultaneously.

How it performs: It does exactly what it promises: blurs pores, is high coverage and feels extremely light on my skin. It was like I had a TikTok beauty filter in real life and was so light and moisturising that I forgot I even had it on. That said, its blemish-blurring power only works for minor imperfections like enlarged pores and blackheads. Dark spots especially needed more product to really cover them, and under indoor lighting, the texture on my chin was very obvious. Like the red cushion, the orange one does oxidise too, but not as much. That said, I love the finish and it kept my skin looking smooth around my nose and undereyes with zero creasing over time. Again, there was no transfer even after a full night out.
