The Ordinary Is Confident Its Instant Powder-To-Creme Acne Treatment Works Within An Hour - Here’s What I think

The Ordinary’s new blemish foundation aims to reduce blemishes within an hour, thanks to its 10% sulfur formulation.

Acne, urgh ; even a pimple patch doesn’t work well overnight to reduce it. The other day I find myself lamenting over the visible, presence of an angry pimple on my face and I was contemplating to skip dinner and just stay at home. But I shouldn’t let a breakout derail my social plans, right? The Ordinary recently dropped their new Instant Powder-To-Creme Acne Treatment and I got my hands on the small bottle worth $19.

WHAT THE ORDINARY INSTANT POWDER-TO-CREME ACNE TREATMENT DOES

The Ordinary’s new Instant Powder-To-Creme Acne Treatment is said to be able to reduce blemishes up to an hour. This is due to the 10% sulphur formulation with a much smaller particle size to drive deeper absorption into our skin. There is also silica, a highly porous structure which allows it to absorb excess sebum (oil) and sweat from the skin’s surface. This makes it an excellent mattifying agent, helping to reduce shine and create a fresh, velvety, and long-lasting finish, especially in makeup like powders and foundations.

Kaolin, a staple ingredient in clay masks and products for oily and acne-prone skin, helps to prevent clogged pores and control shine without over-drying the skin. In this formulation, kaolin helps to calm redness and inflammation, making it a good choice for products that address active breakouts or skin sensitivity.

Can this tiny bottle hold strength to combat acne? Well, at first glance, the white powder seems harmless, but when you mix the powder with water and apply it to the targeted area, the texture immediately transforms into a paste. By applying a slight pressure to the skin, the tiny capsules in the powder - that’s totally invisible to the eye - break and release sulfur actives that target blemishes.

The paste absorbs well within minutes and doesn’t cause any discomfort at all. When it dries, there’s a slight matte layer on my skin but not too visible unless you stare at it with a microscopic lens. I go about my day and totally forgot about it a few hours later. The redness has reduced and in its place, was not an angry pimple. While it did not totally rid my acne within a day, I see a major difference with a continuous use up to three days. Magic!

Would definitely recommend using this than a pimple sticker as the latter could be distracting.
