This Minimalist Cafe In Singapore Was Just Named Asia’s Best Coffee Shop
Apartment Coffee at Selegie Road earns its spot on the World’s 100 Best Coffee Shops list for the second year running
By Rachel Yohannan,
Plenty of new cafes spring up in Singapore each month, but on some days, there’s just a certain comfort in going back to something tried-and-true – and we’d consider cosy minimalist cafe, Apartment Coffee, as one of them. Having been around since 2018, the coffee house first opened in Lavender before moving to its current spot at Selegie, and has amassed a steady stream of regulars over the years.
If there’s any further reason why you should check it out, Apartment Coffee was just named Asia’s best coffee shop in the World’s 100 Best Coffee Shops list – for the second year in a row. Coming in at sixth place globally in 2026, a position that it retains from the previous edition of the awards, Apartment Coffee earns praise for its “pour-over options made with single-origin beans from Costa Rica, Rwanda, and Kenya”, its “sleek, minimalist aesthetic”, and friendly staff.
But there’s even more to love. Apartment Coffee isn’t your regular coffee spot to chill and unwind at. It’s also very much a community space, where there are occasional art displays, beginner-friendly brewing workshops, and coffee masterclasses hosted by the passionate team.
Apartment Roastery by Apartment Coffee
In mid-2025, Apartment Coffee opened a second outlet at Jalan Riang called Apartment Roastery. Unlike its OG sister outlet that also serves tea, bakes and opens daily, Apartment Roastery is a strictly coffee-only establishment that puts extra focus on the craft of the bean, and opens only on weekends.
It’s clear that Apartment Coffee is serious about the Joe – and is fully deserving of this second-time win. Stay up to date with Apartment Coffee’s latest happenings via Instagram and check out the full list of The World’s 100 Best Coffee Shops here.
