While Singapore is no stranger to a fun photo booth, Blind Animals is giving you a few more worlds to play around in. Opened this August, the new photo booth and creative studio located just a five-minute walk from Somerset MRT is putting a little more imagination into the humble photo strip.

Founded by sisters Scarlet and Ruby, Blind Animals was created with the desire to bring their creative backgrounds into the space. Between Ruby’s work in art direction and photography and Scarlet’s background in costume design, the pair had plenty of creative fuel when it came to dreaming up the studio. Instead of looking at what other photo booths were doing they chose to dream up their own little worlds, each one built around an idea, feeling or visual they simply loved. So whether you’re there with your bestie, a date or just feeling yourself, the whole point is to pick a world, get in front of the camera and have a bit of fun with it.

Inside Blind Animals’ themed photo booths

The Lotus Pond Room surrounds you with lotus flowers and lily pads, making it feel like you’ve wandered straight into a dreamy pond, minus the need to get your feet wet. They’ve also designed the space so every photo gets that golden hour-style lighting with a soft, hazy glow.

2. 1950s pink bathroom

Pink, vintage and wonderfully kitschy, this 1950s-inspired bathroom feels like a tiny escape from the outside world. With a tub to pose with and even a curated medicine cabinet, the space has all the makings of a pink-hued Sofia Coppola film.

3. Retro Hong Kong room

For something a little more cinematic, step into their retro Hong Kong room, which is giving Wong Kar-wai in all the best ways. The camera itself sits behind a glass-beaded curtain, so you can pull it aside and peek through for your shot, while old Hong Kong magazines fill the space with even more character.
