Japan’s Viral Cheese Wonder Cheesecake Is Now Available In Singapore

While we’re no stranger to viral food pop-ups in Singapore, we never get tired waiting for the next big one. The latest: Hokkaido’s viral cheesecake brand Cheese Wonder – known for its decadent cult-favourite no-bake, two-layer cheesecake made from rich Hokkaido milk and butter. 

Don’t be fooled by its look though – despite its unassuming size and unconventional construction, this is a star cheesecake that’s responsible for drawing huge crowds. And if you haven’t been to Japan to try these yourself, you definitely don’t want to miss the opportunity to do so at its Singapore pop-up. 

Unlike the usual sliced cheesecakes, Cheese Wonder’s iteration ($35.90 for four pieces, $53.90 for six pieces) looks more like a tart – with a crunchy almond flavoured cookie base at the bottom that holds together a light creamy souffle, and fresh cheese mousse sitting atop. The best part? It can be savoured in three equally delicious ways: fully thawed, lightly softened or frozen. While the latter of the three provides a firm, almost ice cream-like texture, the lightly softened version is smooth and creamy, while the thawed version features a gooey, velvety bite that’s extremely addictive. 

The viral cheesecake also comes in a strawberry-flavoured version. The Cheese Wonder Red ($42.90 for four pieces) is a refreshing, fruity dessert that features a whole Japanese strawberry enveloped between the layers, with strawberry-infused cheese mousse. For the best tasting experience, savour it half-thawed. 

If the cookie base is what draws you to cheesecakes, get the Wonder Sand ($35.90 for eight pieces). It’s a uniquely shaped crispy cheese cookie filled with fresh cream cheese sandwiched between crumbly batter.
