As 2026 rolls in with a slate of new movies to watch, some of us are also revisiting old favourites – and there’s no better place to do that than by Sentosa’s scenic beachside. Back for its eighth year, the open-air Hendrick’s Sunset Cinema turns Tanjong Beach into the ultimate golden hour escape from April 30 to May 10, 2026 – where alternative films, cocktails and chill beats collide for a few unforgettable evenings under the stars.

Hendrick’s Sunset Cinema has become quite the yearly ritual in Singapore. It’s ranked as one of the most beautiful open-air cinemas in the world – and once you’ve been there, it’s easy to see why. Upon arrival, guests are greeted with an array of Hendrick’s cocktails at the bar and a live DJ set, while rows of deck chairs stretch across the sand. The movie begins right after the sun sets. The twist? It’s a silent cinema, where guests are given headphones to enjoy the audio, all while still soaking in that full cinematic experience.

Gates open at 5:30pm, with films rolling at 7:45pm – plenty of time to grab a drink, claim your spot and spend some time chilling before the screens light up.

What movies can we expect this year at Hendrick’s Sunset Cinema?

This year’s lineup blends award-winning international films and modern classics. Feeling a little theatrical? Song Sung Blue starring Hugh Jackman and Kate Hudson brings the big musical drama energy. But if you’re into dark comedy, A24’s If I Had Legs I’d Kick You starring Rose Byrne might be up your alley. For those who like their films a little more introspective, Joachim Trier’s Cannes-acclaimed Sentimental Value delivers emotional depth, while Park Chan-wook’s razor-sharp satire No Other Choice promises wit with a bite. And if you’re craving something expansive and soul-searching, Into The Wild offers a sweeping reminder of what it means to break away and breathe.
