If you’re looking for new nighttime activities, here’s some good news – Singapore’s annual sustainable light art festival, i Light Singapore returns in June to illuminate Marina Bay’s waterfront once more. This year, the festival will feature 14 enchanting light installations by 17 artists from Singapore and around the world, all of whom have created experimental and visually arresting artworks that centre around the theme of “Movement”.
i Light 2026 will be held at various spots in Marina Bay as well as the festival’s satellite site at Raffles Place – transforming the heart of town into a nighttime open-air gallery where guests can explore the immersive light works.
Embark on a journey inspired by the dynamic forces of nature along the Marina Bay waterfront. At The Promontory, you’ll be greeted by Wave – an interactive light installation by Japanese artist Masamichi Shimada, where visitors are encouraged to tap silver sticks on the ground to recreate the calming rhythms of raindrops hitting on a puddle.
Similarly, Where the Wildflowers Grow is an ethereal wildflower garden light installation at the Mist Walk that glows softly when touched. Created by local artist-designer duo Kester Wong and Tan Shao Qi, the nature-inspired installation was crafted purely from recycled materials.
For something a little more playful, head on down to the Marina Bay Lower Boardwalk to fiddle with Chinese artist Wentao Wang’s Let’s Fish the Sun! – a whimsical light installation that invites visitors to “reverse” sunset by playing with its oversized fishing rod.
The theatrics continue with Cube Graphics by France’s Cyril Lancelin – an inflatable cube structure that morphs geometrically as visitors venture around it. You can also play under Lancelin’s other installation Arch Flower – a massive sculptural light piece with pink and green hues – at Raffles Place Park.
Get in on the creative action at the entrance of Marina Bay Link Mall, where Canada’s Graffiti+ presents Infinite Graffiti – a five-metre-long digital graffiti wall that invites visitors to become artists themselves. Watch how the mural transforms as visitors contribute to an ever-evolving canvas with sensor-activated spray cans.
This year, i Light Singapore also spotlights emerging talents with two installations by three local artists. Market Cycles at the Mist Walk transforms everyday wet market plastic crates into a luminous architectural light installation, while Steps along the Marina Boulevard waterfront reimagines staircases as a glowing monument symbolic of Singapore’s upward progress.
If you’re looking to fuel up after a night of admiring the captivating light installations, local food and music festival Gastrobeats is where you’ll want to get your grub. Held at the Bayfront Event Space, Gastrobeats will feature a total of 40 food vendors, arcade games and artisanal culinary experiences at an Elevated Dining Zone. This time, the festival is also featuring new dynamic activity zones where guests can engage in pickleball matches.
i Light Singapore will be held from June 5 to 28, 2026 from 7:30pm to 10:30pm daily. Admission to the festival is free, however charges may apply for certain programmes. Find out more here.
