The Food Offerings At Laneway Singapore 2018 Are Worth Ditching Your Diet For
The biggest indie music festival in Singapore Laneway is just around the corner and besides its kick-ass lineup of international, regional and local acts, here's another aspect you should seriously get excited about.
By SOFIA KIM,
Laneway has just announced an exciting partnership with dispatch heroes Uber Eats to deliver an enticing selection of food and drinks to festival-goers.
For the past 8 years, Laneway has not only been Singapore’s flagship event for live music, but also for tasty treats. This year will be no different with a carefully curated food village serving up everything from chilli crab pasta to champagne popsicles. From local to international cuisines, the menu caters to all taste buds (think much-loved local dishes such as satay, chicken wings and salted egg fish skin to festival favourites like hot dogs, beef pies and burgers). P/S: meals are priced at just $10.
Uber Eats will also be on-site offering fast delivery from any of the festival vendors to a selection of easy-access collection points across the site so you can munch on some grub without missing a moment of mainstage action. If you prefer eating in, the Uber Eats Food Village is where you’ll find yourself. Here, our top 10 vendors to check out.
#1: Arctic Icicles
The best way to stay refreshed in the heat? By treating yourself to an ice popsicle. Our picks: salted speculoos (for that sweet yet slightly savoury flavour) and avocado gula melaka. Yum.
#2: Dosirak
When we think Korean food, the first dish that comes to mind would probably be the popular K-BBQ. But if you've got a penchant for healthier food options and still want to indulge in some Korean cuisine goodness, then head over to Dosirak. They will be selling a variety of healthy bibimbaps, and there are even options for vegans and vegetarians.
#3: The Travelling C.O.W
Craving for some classic American diner food? Then head to our favourite chef on wheels for some crunchy tacos and mac and cheese.
#4: Senor Taco
But if you're more into Mexican cuisine, then Senor Taco will definitely satisfy your cravings with its slew of flavourful Mexican street food.
#5: Satay Power
Go local and treat yourself to some satay (seasoned grilled meat on skewers served with rice) sticks.
#6: Saiko
For tasty Japanese street food with a twist, grab some takoyaki and udon fries.
#7: The Cultured People
Who said healthy living only meant consuming fresh foods from the market? Fermented foods, too, are high in probiotics and contain other nutritional benefits. Our picks: the passionfruit kombucha and otah burger.
#8: The 1925 Brewing Co.
Head over to The 1925 Brewing Co. for some comforting loh ba don and crowd favourite wagyu don.
#9: Soi 55 x Fish Shnack
Here's the place to check out to get your Thai milk tea and salted egg fish skin cravings satisfied.
#10: Tanamera Coffee x Crack
Need your caffeine fix? This is the place to get your cuppa joe. Pair it with some egg-y treats from Crack if you're feeling peckish.
