The annual Loewe Craft Prize, now in its sophomore edition, has finally unveiled the 30 finalists picked from more than 1,900 submissions from 75 countries. If you're unfamiliar with the prize, it's an initiative started by Loewe's creative director J.W. Anderson, who is known for being a serious collector and championer of artisanal crafts and the fine arts. The prize was created to support international artisans of various genres (woodwork, ceramics, paper, metal, jewellery, lacquer, textiles and more), and indeed, the winner receives 50,000 euros.
While the winner will be announced on May 3, there will also be a group exhibition featuring the works of all 30 finalists to be held at London's Design Museum from May 4 till June 17, so if you're a fan of all things artisanal, make your way down - I know I intend to.
