It's A Lorde Summer: Her Fourth Album ‘Virgin’ Is Finally Out

From religious iconography to introspective lyricism, Virgin marks a bold emotional evolution for Lorde, and we're here for it.

Four years. That’s how long we went without new Lorde music since Solar Power, in 2021. Finally, on June 27, we got the 11-track album, Virgin, a surprise live performance at Glastonbury 2025, and a full album reveal- live? Iconic.

Just days after its release, her fourth studio album is already being hailed as her boldest, most emotionally charged project yet. With her husky vocals, the unapologetic introspection in her lyrics, and the visceral, symbolic imagery (yes, I'm also talking about her vinyl cover), it's easy to see why.

The album takes us on an emotional journey: a devastating situationship, body image issues, gender dysphoria, and her struggle with achieving fame at a young age. The two-time Grammy winner didn't just drop an album, she shed her skin, bared her soul, and reclaimed the word 'virgin' in a way that only Lorde could achieve.

Featuring her TikTok-viral singles: the pulsating synth-pop track, What Was That, and the closest we'll get to a Lorde ballad, Man Of The Year, I'm placing my bet that this album is going into the pop hall of fame. Ever the generous artist, Lorde is gifting us one more treat: a world tour.

Is Lorde coming to Singapore in 2025?

From September 2025, Lorde's Ultrasound Tour will be playing across Europe and North America. Unfortunately, no stops in Asia have been announced yet. However, if her Glastonbury set is any consolation, fans are guaranteed a raw and unapologetic live performance. All that’s left for us to do here in Asia, is to manifest a spot on her roster.
