Nestled between the first and second floors of creative lifestyle hub Kada is Pacto by Parchmen – a quaint coffee stand that boasts an extensive range of specialty beverages, from coffee and tea to matcha, hojicha and chocolate. If its name rings a bell, you’ve likely heard of – or visited – its first outlet located at Jalan Besar Community Centre outlet.

Upon stepping into its space, you’ll be greeted by the smell of freshly-ground coffee beans. You can also watch the barista brew a fresh cup of specialty coffee within the cosy pocket-sized cafe. Options like black coffee, white coffee, espresso, mocha and filter coffee are served in the cups adorned with the most adorable illustrations of cats and dogs. Unique flavour shots like yuzu, coconut and guava are available as add-ons if you’re craving that extra kick.

What really stands out is their range of matcha options, which alone features five different flavour profiles to choose from – a wide variety compared to the usual one offered at other coffee cafes.

For those who prefer their matcha lattes with vegetal notes, go for the Sayama #3 and Sayama #6 – the first features a smooth blend of seaweed and almond flavours, while the latter tastes more earthy. On the other hand, their Yame option offers a more umami kick with the inclusion of pistachio notes for a nutty aftertaste. Finally, the Enshi option is the lighter alternative to all the above, with jasmine notes that provide a sweet finish. Flavoured versions with espresso, coconut water and coconut milk are also available.

If you’re not a fan of matcha, they also have hojicha in two flavour profiles, and three types of artisanal chocolate blends. To top it off, they also sell bags of coffee beans and green tea tins for you to make your own cup at home.

If you walk past the side of Kada’s building facing Erskine Road, a charming animal mural will catch your eye. Above that is an open window counter where Pacto by Parchmen accepts takeaway orders – providing customers a novel grab-and-go experience while offering a peek into the cafe’s live barista station from outside the compound.

Pacto by Parchmen is located at 5 Kadayanallur Street, #01-10, Singapore 069183 and is open from Monday to Friday, 8.30am to 5pm and Saturday to Sunday, 9am to 5pm.
