By Rachel Yohannan,
It’s the end of an era in Singapore’s theatre scene. Pangdemonium, founded by celebrated local actor Adrian Pang and wife Tracie Pang, will be doing a final curtain call this 2026 after a successful 16-year-long run.
Amidst closures of spaces like The Projector, this news comes as yet another blow to local arts enthusiasts, but if there’s one thing we can feel heartened by, it’s that Pangdemonium’s exit isn’t due to unfortunate circumstances, but rather, a personal decision.
In a statement on Pangdemonium’s website, the power couple shares, “...after much soul-searching, deliberation, and consideration of our journey to where we are right now, we have come to a decision – and we wish to emphasise that this is a purely personal decision – that as individuals, as theatre practitioners, and as the Founders and Artistic Directors of a company bearing our family name, the Pangdemonium chapter of our lives is coming to a close, and it is time to let a good thing go.”
“We remain extremely proud of and passionate about Pangdemonium and what we do. If you’ll forgive the analogy, as with the best love stories, we just want to call an end to the Pangdemonium story on our own terms, on a grace note, and while we are still in love.”
For now, theatre buffs can still get a final bittersweet chance to enjoy Pangdemonium’s last season, which will run till the end of 2026. All of these are redeemable using your SG Culture Pass credits, so if yours haven’t already been put to good use, you could even attend these plays and musicals for free.
