This Instagrammer Reimagines Singapore Landscapes As Pantone Colours

With the Pantone colour guides more popular than ever (the colour institute introduced the tradition of Colour Of The Year in 2000), local Instagrammer Jonathan Tan (@jontannn) has gotten in on the action with his recent series of Singapore landscapes rendered as Pantone colour charts.

Here, the nostalgic old-school Dragon playground at Toa Payoh is reimagined as "Toa Payoh Orange", which recalls of Pantone's own "Flame" - one of the top 10 colours for Spring 2017.

 

The photogenic shophouses at Joo Chiat make for a light, pretty lilac.

 

The soon-to-be demolished Rochor Center HDB blocks, famed for its rainbow hues, captured Tan's imagination here with a soothing mint green.

 

Tan doesn't only draw inspiration from buildings; a scenic vista at the West Coast beach made for a rich marigold shade.

 

Yellow is everywhere on the Spring 2017 runways, and we applaud Tan for including this milky chiffon yellow based on the iconic People's Park Complex. If you like his work, look up @jontannn on Instagram.
