The Best Parties To Head To This Weekend

Head down to Gallery & Co. tonight for a round of drinks and exclusive shopping deals, and check out the hottest local music acts at the 100 Bands Festival tomorrow.

The Block Party by hip National Gallery museum store Gallery & Co. returns tonight, but with one teeny difference: It's also throwing a pasar malam (that means "night market" in Malay) hawking everything from apparel to accessories and home decor items. Everything is going for up to 70 per cent off, including items from brands like cult French label Kitsune, Danish homeware brand nomess copenhagen and New York brand Baggu (they're the reusable bag experts). Besides shopping, DJ Adrian Wee aka weelikeme will be helming the decks and spinning house and indie disco beats. Sounds like a great way to spend a Friday to us. 7pm-2am, #01-05 National Gallery, free admission

#2: 100 Bands Festival

The 100 Bands Festival, which puts the spotlight squarely on local acts, is back for its third year running. Here's why you can't miss out on the three-day-long affair, which starts today: It's the last weekend they're holding the festival, and this last leg features local favourites as headliner acts, such as indie groups Cashew Chemists and Plainsunset and rock band The Psalms. Sep 30-Oct 2, 391A Tampines Road (opposite Paya Lebar Air Base)
