The film is directed by Miuccia Prada's longtime collaborator Glen Luchford and is based on a script by screenwriter-slash-director Mary Harron who is behind cult favourites such as American Psycho (2000) and The Notorious Bettie Page (2005).

The actors were filmed in a 6.4-metre high by 23-metre wide virtual set called the Volume which is a curved cocoon of glowing LED screens that projected the surreal image of a snow-covered L.A.
If that doesn't wow you, then the sleek-meets-luxurious wardrobe in the film might. After all, don't sequin-embroidered staples like chiffon shorts and tulle T-shirts put you in the mood to dress up for the holidays?
