Ralph Lauren's First New York Restaurant The Polo Bar Opens
As you would expect, The Polo Bar looks just like a Ralph Lauren store, just with more chairs and Old Fashioned cocktails.

From the Henry Koehler polo match-inspired mural on the exterior to the saddle leather and equestrian art inside, the restaurant pays homage to the distinguished sporting lifestyle long synonymous with the Ralph Lauren brand. You almost expect waiters to be riding thoroughbreds to serve you... (er, no).
Guests first enter the bar, where a selection of cocktails and light fare such as garlic potato chips and a daily assortment of oysters can be enjoyed at the brass-topped bar.
An elegant wooden staircase leads guests downstairs into the main dining room, where aged leather banquettes create intimate dining alcoves, and deep hunter green walls are adorned with carefully curated paintings and photographs.
The Polo Bar offers classic American cuisine inspired by Lauren’s personal favs. “I’m drawn to the kind of food that people truly enjoy — vibrant food that people want to return to time and again,” says the designer.
Double doors with port windows open into a special private room that provides an intimate dining experience for up to 14. Every thing here pretty much shouts (albeit elegantly) "Ralph Lauren".
The Polo Bar is Ralph Lauren’s third restaurant, joining RL Restaurant, which opened in 1999 in Chicago, and Ralph’s, which opened in 2010 in Paris.
The decor and the food is pretty classic: Beef from Ralph Lauren’s Double RL ranch in Colorado will be offered at select times throughout the year. Seasonal dishes range from a crispy kale salad and crab cakes to a corned beef sandwich, and the signature Polo Bar Burger. Pssst... We're told the star of the dessert list is Ralph’s Coffee Ice Cream, homemade with Ralph’s custom coffee blend. Save some space for that.
The Polo Bar is located next door to the new Polo Ralph Lauren flagship store at Fifth Avenue and East 55th Street.
