FIBRE

Fibre
7/10

What is it: Established in 2023 by Timothy Chng, Fibre is the brainchild of an individual with a profound interest in plants, particularly orchids, which held a special place in his heart. Chng attributes this passion to his grandmother's avid home gardening, where she cultivated numerous Dendrobiums. While working full-time at a local floral studio with a background in art history, Chng realised his excitement and passion for pushing the boundaries of the floral medium.
Best for: Design-wise, Fibre shines a spotlight on a specific variety in its bouquets, such as the bougainvillaea. Chng aims to inform customers about the flowers they choose, the reasons behind their preferences, and the personal meaning these flowers hold for them. With a focus on using a single variety in a piece, Fibre's arrangements emphasise shape and form, akin to sculpting with flowers. The studio seeks a delicate balance between an organic appearance and intentional design.
Special Valentine’s Day designs: The At Home in the Tropics collection comprises two special bouquets, each drawing inspiration from Chng's childhood memories of growing up in Singapore, surrounded by orchids. These bouquets centred around bougainvilleas, add a slightly more romantic touch to the tropical theme, embodying the concept of home wherever you find the familiar comfort of companionship.
