LILA TAN, 20, NATIONAL FOOTBALL PLAYER, MODEL STUDENT AND CONTENT CREATOR
TikTok account: @bebelilaa
Started on TikTok: “Around 2020, 2021”
TikTok stats as of press time: 43.1K followers, 2.9M likes
Why know her: With her sexy-cool looks, personality and style (she flits effortlessly between coquette and blokettecore, and has been into ’90s beauty trends such as ultra-thin brows), Tan is Internet hot girl personified – except that she’s so much more than that. As a member of the Albirex Niigata FC Singapore women’s team, she’s a true fitness inspo with her steady stream of gym and soccer content, and as a vintage-loving clothes horse who’s represented by the modelling agency Misc. Management, a fun fashion inspo with her fit checks and GRWM vids. What endears this first-year business and entrepreneurship undergraduate to us most though are her introspective and eloquent takes on life in general that reveal her to be a true beauty with brains, and as sensitive as she is sassy. This is what It girls are made of.
Her background and how it’s shaped her content: “As a Gemini, I tend to get bored easily, which would explain why I love to indulge in different things and I think this is reflected in the content that I create on Tiktok. It’s probably the social media app that I use most as I feel most comfortable on it. I love to create silly little videos.”
Her best talent: “The ability to eat spicy food.”
How much of her TikTok personality is true? “I don’t know so I would not be able to say. TikTok has actually allowed me to be more in touch with myself and, funnily enough, more productive, but there have also been moments when I’ve deleted the app for a detox. This is still something that I struggle with.”

And what does she want to be when she grows up? “I would like to be either a professional athlete or an entrepreneur!”
Most memorable comment she’s received: “Any that’s about being a gym inspo!”
Best thing about TikTok: “It pushes me to think outside of the box and be more open-minded and creative.”
Worst thing about TikTok: “The negativity”
Number of hours she spends on her phone daily: “Around eight to ten on a bad day.”
Apps she spends the most time on: “TikTok, Instagram or Netflix depending on the day”
If there was no TikTok: “We would lack fun silly videos!”
