TikTok account: @qilahrose55
Started on TikTok: “I started posting during the circuit breaker in 2020 while on quarantine.”
TikTok stats as of press time: 65.6K followers and 5.6 million likes
Why know her: Because she’s hella hot, funny and entertaining. Whether she’s serving a skit, hot take or beauty tutorial that shows off her masterful hand at makeup, her content is always humorous and whip smart, reminiscent of the work of the most brilliant female comedians. SNL, hire her already.
Her background and how it’s shaped her content: “Growing up, acting was a huge passion and still is. I’ve always known that this was something I wanted to pursue, but never really found an avenue to put it to work until the circuit breaker when I created my account. I reckon my acting chops have helped me to grow the page as people were first drawn to my skits, POVs and accent videos. Honestly, I never thought I would have the followers that I do now. I think it boils down to the fact that I’m relatable or so I would like to think. I mean, I’m not fussed about putting on a front on camera and I think that’s pretty apparent on my page. By now, my followers have definitely seen all my bad angles.”
Her best talent: “I think I’ve got a knack for making people laugh and I’m pretty quick on my feet – my best trait for sure!”

On her interest in fashion and beauty: “I grew up watching MTV and every pop music video imaginable. I was born in 1999 so I was really lucky to have witnessed the height of 2000s fashion. My mum also dressed up all the time and it was really inspiring for me to see that. She would always leave the house in heels, a Louis Vuitton Speedy in one hand and a full beat. I remember thinking that I couldn’t wait to grow older so that I could strut around in heels myself… Now that I am older, I love experimenting with fashion and have always believed that there are no rules in fashion. As long as you’re not appropriating anyone, go crazy! I am definitely a maximalist and love going ham and putting things together even if they don’t match.”
Just how did she get so good at makeup? “I’m still learning but definitely, practice – and practise on your own face. What looks good on others might not necessarily flatter you so you have to learn about what works for your own face. And experimenting with different styles helps a lot too. I’ve had some bad makeup phases, but I embrace all of them. Lastly, remember that sometimes people don’t have to like your makeup and that’s okay! Confidence is the best makeup one can put on.”
So how much of her TikTok personality is true? “This is a tricky question for me. I would say a good 70 per cent. A lot of people who meet me for the first time always remark about how mellow I am as compared to my online persona. People do expect me to be loud and sometimes obnoxious, but I’m really not like that at all. I’m very shy in person and actually hate being loud in public settings except when I’m laughing. I have a loud laugh. Having said that, I am equally as silly in real life. I crack the same kind of jokes and say stupid things all the time.”
Most memorable comment she’s received: “Someone once came up to me and told me that the past few months had been really rough and that my videos were the one thing that helped. That to me is the biggest compliment ever. Having struggled with my own mental health for most part of my life, this is exactly the sort of impact I’ve always wished to make on others.”

Her favourite TikTok accounts: “Locally, I’m going to say the creator who goes by Lindsay Voitton. Her videos are all so well put together and the creativity level is off the charts. She truly has a gift for creating content and her fashion looks are always a 10 out of 10. Internationally, I absolutely love Madeline Ford and Maddie Grace Jepson. I love strong, powerful, funny women and these women light up my mood every time their content pops up on my FYP.”

Best thing about TikTok: “The community I’ve built! Every single one of my followers has been incredibly supportive and such angels! A year before I started TikTok, I was losing hope of becoming an actor. My followers however have made it feel like it could be possible. I’m not there yet, but it’s definitely looking up because of them!”
Worst thing about TikTok: “The trolls! Every once in a while, there would be anonymous accounts that love to shame others for absolutely no reason. They comment on literally everything and anything under the sun – from my body and face to the way I talk. I hate how people get so comfortable commenting on someone else’s appearance when they literally have zero posts and a car as their profile picture.”
Is she active on other social media platforms too? “I’m really active on Instagram and I post Instagram reels every day. I would say the main difference between what I post across platforms is that I’m hotter on Instagram – just kidding! I’m just not as chatty on my Instagram reels as I am on TikTok. I also tend to post a lot of silly random memes on my Instagram Stories or share certain comments I get on TikTok that make me laugh.”
Will she continue to be on TikTok when she is older? “Acting is a big goal for me so I can only hope that it becomes a reality for me in the upcoming years while TikTok becomes not so much a platform for work, but a place for me to have fun.”
Advice on making it on TikTok: “Taking breaks is so important. There would be moments when I force myself to create content even though I’m out of creative juices. I’d insert comedy elements that make it very obvious that I am uninspired, and these are the videos in which I don’t seem like myself. You can’t force comedy or authenticity.”
And now, please share some beauty recommendations: “Okay, I gotcha! I will never stop raving about the Tom Ford Soleil Neige highlighter, which is literally a game-changer. It’s pretty expensive, but it lasts forever – I’ve had mine since last year and I’ve still not hit the pan yet. For lip products, I absolutely love the YSL Rouge Volupte Shine, which to me is the most stunning sheer lipstick on the market by far. It makes your lips look extra juicy and moisturised. Then there’s my holy grail lipstick: the Silkygirl Powder Matte Lipstick in Mocha. I should be an ambassador at this point because I use this lipstick in the majority of my videos. It doesn’t dry out my lips and is the best nude shade for my skin tone.”
