The returning cast of The Devil Wears Prada 2

Hold onto your Chanels! The dream team is officially back. Meryl Streep, Anne Hathaway, Emily Blunt, and Stanley Tucci are set to reprise their iconic roles in The Devil Wears Prada 2, which has now started production. Additional members joining the cast are Kenneth Branagh who will star as Miranda Presley's (Streep) husband. Adrian Grenier who starred as Andy Sach's (Anne Hathaway) beau will not be joining the original cast (well, he won't be missed!).

Disney's 20th Century Studios confirmed the exciting news by sharing a teaser on Instagram which you can view here:

At the Stuttering 19th Annual Gala just three weeks ago before this hot news dropped, Emily Blunt was quoted as saying to ET's journalist: "I don't even know what I am allowed to say anymore. So weird, I haven't even read the script; I'm just like, 'where is she' (on her character, Emily Charlton)."

According to Variety, The Devil Wears Prada 2 plunges us back into the life of Miranda Priestly as she grapples with the seismic shifts and decline of traditional magazine publishing. According to Variety, the storyline follows the formidable editor who finds herself in a desperate struggle for survival, needing crucial advertising dollars. But there's a twist: those much-needed funds are now controlled by Emily Blunt's character, Miranda's former assistant, who has ascended to a powerful executive role within a rival luxury group. It's a clash of titans, with past loyalties and present ambitions colliding in a glamorous, cutthroat landscape.

When is the release date of The Devil Wears Prada 2?

The studio has confirmed May 1, 2026 theatrical release date for the follow-up. Interestingly, the showing would take place just 3 days before The Met Gala 2026, which is an annual event organised by Anna Wintour at Vogue, who since has stepped down as the title's editor-in-chief. This tea is brewing as we speak!
