Sorn and Seungyeon to serve major looks and vocals at Waterbomb, and we’re totally here for it

Get ready to make a splash, because Waterbomb is back in Singapore for 2025 and it’s going to be a total vibe check. The iconic K-pop and K-hip-hop music festival, known for its epic water fights and lit performances, is taking over Siloso Beach on Sentosa for a two-day weekend of pure energy on 30 & 31 August. You’ll get to choose a team and battle it out with water guns while your fave artists are on stage.

The lineup is absolutely stacked, with Day 1 featuring heavy hitters like SHINee’s Taemin and Minho, EXID, and Sorn and Seungyeon from CLC. Day 2 is just as fire with legendary group 2NE1, GOT7’s Jay B, and rapper Lee Youngji. Basically, it’s the ultimate summer party, so grab your squad, your best festival fits, and get ready to get drenched.

To get you ready for the upcoming festival, we got girlies Sorn and Seungyeon to tell us what we can expect from their performance, their festival looks and why they’re working so hard for their fans.

This is not the first time you both have performed together on stage. Do you try to mix up your performance and give the crowd something new?

SORN: Well, for this year’s show not only will Seungyeon be performing a couple songs with me, she’s also performing her own set as a DJ which is something that not a lot of fans have seen live yet! Also we might also be performing a couple CLC songs too... Who knows?

SEUNGYEON: Even though the songs and choreography are the same, I try to give a fresh feeling by altering my styling, makeup, and outfits! I also make sure to change up my gestures and expressions!

What is it like to work together on stage? What roles do you both play?

SORN: Performing on stage together feels more like a hangout with your best friend, except we’re also singing and dancing together at the same time. Seungyeon is always the one hyping up the crowd and she does it so effortlessly with her movements so my job here this year is to entertain the crowd with my voice the best way that I can!

SEUNGYEON: On stage, I tend to dance more powerfully to hype up the audience! Even when I tell myself to relax and take it easy, the excitement of performing takes over, and I can’t hold back! 😅

Even though CLC has disbanded, you both are still finding ways to work together. What’s the best thing about making music together?

SORN: I wouldn’t say that CLC is disbanded. I would say that the team is not active at the moment because we’re all trying our best to explore new career paths in our own ways, and hopefully one day we can come back together and be on the same stage again. The best thing about making music together is that it’s always a good time. It doesn’t feel like work and you don’t really feel the burden when you’re getting to hangout with your besties!

SEUNGYEON: Actually, it’s not a disbandment! Even though articles suggested otherwise after our contracts expired, the members are consistently in touch, actively seeking ways to reconnect with our fans. We’d also be thrilled to work together again if the chance arises. Being together truly doubles our joy and allows us to share any worries or struggles.

Do you both pick your own outfits? What’s a great festival outfit for you both?

SORN: We always pick out our own outfits! For this year I want to give a more refreshing vibe for the fans. A lot of fans have been asking me to bring back “Summer Sorn” so I’m going to try my best to deliver!

SEUNGYEON: Yes, we always choose and style our own outfits! For a festival, we aim for a ‘hot’ vibe, but comfort is key since we need to have fun. My ideal outfit would be denim shorts, mid-boots, and a simple tank top, accented with accessories. (:

Will we be expecting new singles coming out from you both soon?

SORN: YES! I am quietly working on some new music at the moment, the reason why I haven’t really talked about it is because I’m trying to turn this into an album. I’m trying to take things slow and perfect everything so please be patient with me!

SEUNGYEON: I’m not working on an album at the moment; my focus is on traveling globally to conduct dance workshops and DJ. However, I’d certainly love to release a solo album if the right opportunity comes along!

From your Instagram feed, it looks like both of you were in the States doing your own thing. Was that a proper vacation for you?

SORN: Proper vacation for me is to go to a destination, turn off everything, and not having to text anyone about work. That is a proper vacation for me which was what I was trying to do when I went to LA recently. But since I’m such a workaholic, I failed to do that this trip haha but hopefully I’ll be able to take a proper one soon.

SEUNGYEON: It wasn’t a typical vacation but rather a ‘work-cation’! My weekends were spent traveling across the U.S. for dance workshops, while weekdays were dedicated to rest and creating new choreography. Although constant creativity wasn’t always easy, I found the entire process incredibly enjoyable! A definite highlight was a fantastic three-day break in Miami, where I found immense joy swimming in the ocean, dining at Cuban restaurants, and sipping martinis—it’s now my favorite city!

I like that you both are doing your own thing, but when you get back together, it seems like the friendship never left, which tells me you have a strong foundation. Is friendship and loyalty important to you?

SORN: Friendship and loyalty is the most important thing in my life, after my family. I love having a community of my own and connecting the people I love together. That is what gives my life meaning and I really do enjoy introducing good people to other good people.

SEUNGYEON: Friendship and loyalty are absolutely essential to me! Consistently supporting, caring for, and thinking of each other provides immense strength in my life. I truly believe life would be quite sad without such strong bonds 🥹. I hope to keep sharing positive energy with each other and deepen our friendship. (:
