Aarika Lee Of The Female Collective Is Melissa Shoes' First Ambassador
We speak to Aarika Lee on how she landed the role as a Melissa Insider and what her favourite Melissa shoes are.
By ISABEL ONG,
Aarika Lee is one busy lady, and that's putting it lightly. Between juggling a full-time job at Elementary Co., being a mother to two adorable tots and updating her website with poignant, insightful anecdotes about life, Lee has recently been announced as Brazilian footwear brand Melissa Shoes' first Melissa Insider. Isabel Ong speaks to the Female Collective member to find out what how she landed the role and what her favourite shoe styles from the latest collection are.
Psst: If you're in the CBD on March 15 and 22, Lee will be hanging around Raffles Green to give away three pairs of Melissa shoes. All you need to do to get spotted: Come dressed in a pencil skirt on the 15th and a colourful get-up on the 22nd. Good luck!
"Beyond the fact that I love the wide selection of footwear they have (I am addicted to their Flox series and designer collaborations), what impresses me most about Melissa is the brand's genuine interest in supporting and empowering women. Making comfortable and fashionable footwear is one form of that expression."
"I feel like I've been upgraded to BFF status with this ambassadorship. And I say that because I've used Melissa shoes for years and Melissa has also always been very supportive of me and my journey, from being a performing artist to settling into motherhood, and then becoming the go-to shoes for my kids. It feels like this longstanding friendship we have has entered a new chapter."
"The new Melissa Campana Barroca sandals by the Campana Brothers. I have them in black and they are the most comfortable pair of footwear I have right now. I also love their Flox series (I have three pairs) and their Love System Now sneakers (I have two of those)!"
"I hope more women will incorporate Melissa shoes into their lives; be it at work or on the weekends, or with their kids! Their selection is also so wide - there's something there for everyone."
