Founded in Stockholm in 1996 as a small interdisciplinary collective, Acne Studios has spent the last three decades operating at the intersection of fashion, art, design, architecture, and publishing, led by the collaborative and multidisciplinary vision of co-founder and creative director Jonny Johansson.

Now, to celebrate 30 years of the brand, its magazine Acne Paper returns with a commemorative twenty-first issue, titled Autoportrait. Serving as a poignant self-portrait of Acne Studios and its creative world, the 500-page publication is a love letter to the many artists, collaborators, friends, and cultural trailblazers who have helped shape Acne Studios into the iconic fashion house it is today.

The cover alone is immediately striking. Photographed by Carlijn Jacobs and styled by Imruh Asha, the peach-pink front features a nude Lulu Tenney covered in vibrant splatters of paint. It’s messy, intimate and playful – perfectly capturing the spirit of artistic freedom.

At the core of the publication is an exploration of identity and self-reflection, anchored by four distinct self-portrait stories by visionary photographers Jordan Hemingway, Guinevere van Seenus, Malick Bodian, and Katerina Jebb. The issue also features a curated look into the Acne Studios archive story, photographed by Casper Sejersen and styled by George Krakowiak.

Beyond visual artistry, the publication is rich in dialogue, including interviews with leading voices across creative disciplines – Sadie Coles, Honey Dijon, Max Lamb, Viviane Sassen, Robbie Barrat, and Lena Endre – as well as thought-provoking essays by prominent fashion journalists, designers and critics, including big names like Mark Holgate, Natasha Fraser, and Ben Evans.
