This Lunar New Year, Balenciaga's going for a laid-back take on the year of the Snake, which in Chinese culture symbolises wisdom, transformation, patience, intuition, and elegance, encouraging reflection and thoughtful progress.
Just take its Lunar New Year film campaign - directed by Lucca Lutzky, the short film sees Chinese actresses and models Zhang Xiaofei, Yang Chaoyue, and Liu Bingbing captured in intimate moments at home, sharing their hopes and dreams for the incoming new year.
The brand's Lunar New Year capsule collection likewise exudes a relaxed interpretation of wardrobe staples and house icons like the Rodeo and Bel Air mini bags - the key motif here being a patched monogram logo, complete with a washed, frayed finish.
