Everything You Need To Know About The Balenciaga Winter 2025 Show
Demna aims to set a new standard for dress codes.

Guests Were Ushered "Backstage"
Balenciaga turned its runway into a labyrinth, channeling the secret allure of a fashion show backstage.
For the Winter 25 collection, backstage became the main event – an intricate labyrinth of entrances and exits, perfectly symmetrical yet delightfully chaotic. If that wasn't unnerving enough, each section was divided by black curtains, crafting the illusion of a never-ending runway.
Demna Aims to Upend Dress Codes
Formal wear but make it Balenciaga.
Demna constantly seeks to challenge convention with each collection, and this one is no different. Titled "standard | 'stæn.dəd | >n." (written in the style of a dictionary definition), the collection dissects traditional dress codes, reimagining how standard garments and sartorial pieces can be transformed by both the wearer and the environment.
The White Business Shirt Gets Warped
Corseted construction is just one of the many ways Demna reimagines the white shirt for Winter 2025.
The white business shirt, a corporate staple, gets the Demna treatment in this collection. Appearing in several looks, it’s reimagined with warped proportions – wrinkled, shrunken, and even integrated with push-up and corseted constructions. All this, to prove that even the most standard of garments can be twisted into something far from ordinary.
Balenciaga x Puma: The Next Big Hit Collaboration?
Puma Speedcat Ultrasoft is Balenciaga's twist on the 1999 OG Speedcat.
Demna is back at it with another sportswear remix, and this time, it's Puma getting the Balenciaga makeover. After leaving his mark on Adidas and Under Armour, Demna turns his attention to the German sportswear giant for a high-fashion, streetwear-inspired collab that reimagines the classics.
First up: the Puma Speedcat Ultrasoft – a tribute to the 1999 OG Speedcat, originally designed for race car drivers and totally on-point for the narrow sneaker trend right now. It's been reimagined with a worn-out suede finish, a stripped-back upper for that sock-like feel, and a sliced-off Formstrip, flipping PUMA’s iconic 1958 motif. Vintage vibes? For sure. But make it fashion.
The apparel side features a mix of luxury and sport. Extra-dry molleton sweatsuits flaunt Balenciaga’s lion crest (think soccer warm-up, but make it chic), and crisp, faded nylon tracksuits are decked out with ‘90s Puma details. And for those unexpected twists – enter a shearling “tracksuit” jacket and a trompe-l’œil suede bathrobe coat.
Balenciaga and Alpinestars Reunite
Balenciaga sinks its claws into these Alpinestars gloves, adding a fierce spike twist.
Demna is at it again – blurring the lines between high fashion and high performance. Known for his techno-sporty, moto-infused aesthetic, the Balenciaga creative director revs up a second collaboration with Alpinestars, the legendary maker of professional racing gear since 1963.
This time, they’re taking things up a gear – literally. The standout is a co-branded SuperTech R10 Helmet, decked out in sleek black high-density carbon fibre, complete with a racing spoiler and modular Shield visor for that full-throttle feel. This marks the first time, Balenciaga is getting hands-on with functional racing protection.
The brand also gives Alpinestars’ SMX-2 Air Carbon V2 and Morph Gloves a rebellious makeover – think piercings, spikes, and distressed finishes. The result? A fusion of race-ready function and runway-approved edge.
Damaged Goods Gone Wild
A T-shirt that gives a whole new meaning to "dress down"—ripped, torn, and reworked.
In this collection, “damaged goods” take on a whole new meaning. An intricate grey "moth-eaten" pinstripe suit plays on the concept of decay, while standard-fit T-shirts are given a rebellious twist with chopped-off sleeves. It’s a sartorial nod to the idea that even in destruction, there’s beauty.

A Bag Built to Last
The Marche shopper boasts tensile strength that rivals Kevlar, making it as tough as it is stylish.
At Balenciaga, novelty bags are always on the agenda – and this one doesn’t disappoint. The Marche “plastic bag” shopper is crafted from crushed Dyneema, a technical textile with tensile strength that rivals Kevlar – a synthetic fibre renowned for its durability and toughness.
