With specialised indie bookstores like design bookshops being few and far between in Singapore, many may have found it difficult searching for creative titles locally. Enter Between The Lines, a new curated design library located at the Beyond The Vines Design House in New Bahru. It’s the homegrown design label’s newest initiative, and an extension of their creative world blending design, community and craft.

At Between The Lines, there’s no such thing as gatekeeping. Following BTV’s goal of making good design accessible to all, this reference library contains an ever-evolving selection of books that’s free for everyone to browse. It sits within a dedicated space of the brand’s largest retail space in New Bahru, and is definitely somewhere you’ll want to visit for some creative inspiration.
Here, you’ll find physical media like books, magazines and zines from genres spanning graphic design, architecture, fashion, photography, independent publishing and more. The contributors? None other than BTV’s very own creative director Rebecca Ting, alongside BTV’s creative teams and the wider creative community – all of whom have selected titles from their personal collections to contribute to the library.
To keep the creative library’s collection fresh over time, Between The Lines will feature a rotation of titles from various disciplines through community contribution. Creatives, designers and practitioners are invited to share books from their personal collections to contribute to the library’s ever-evolving selection. Updates on contributor rotations and new featured titles at Between The Lines can be found on Beyond the Vines’ social media channels.
Between The Lines is located at Beyond The Vines Design House at 46 Kim Yam Road, New Bahru Big Block, #01-07, and is open on Monday to Friday from 11am to 8pm, and Saturday to Sunday from 10am to 8pm.
