It's giving modern family.

Fashion brands are spreading the love for Pride Month and for Calvin Klein, nothing drives home the message of support and acceptance more than chosen families within the LGBTQIA+ community. Which is why its This Is Love campaign features a model cast comprising friends, partners, neighbours, siblings and allies.

The photo album-style campaign is lensed by the Brooklyn-based photographer John Edmonds who is best known for his portraits which revolve around the black queer experience. Lending their faces – and stories – to the campaign are personalities such as actress Sasha Lane and Sergio Lane, members of LGBTQ youth organisation The Trevor Project, the legendary ballroom house House of Xtravaganza which was founded in 1982 and the actor Justice Smith and his actor boyfriend Nic Ashe.
Actress Sasha Lane and her brother Sergio Lane are among the families featured in Calvin Klein's This Is Love campaign. She says: “I've always felt like I've known that my brother was gay…he didn't have the confidence, and fair enough…it was Texas, he was a Black man. Because I'm so protective of my brother, I'm not gonna ever answer to anyone about how I feel and who I love. And so that, to me, was like the utmost loyalty.”
Every one of them is dressed in fits from the This Is Love collection that spans activewear, underwear, and accessories in hues of tans and browns to bright pinks and yellows, inspired by the colours of the Progress Pride Flag. Aside from the multi-coloured "This Is Love" lettering printed onto the clothing, the apparel also incorporates a woven label explaining what each flag colour represents.
