Hedi Slimane brought rock ’n’ roll and 1960s glamour to Celine’s Summer 2025 collection, marking his final collaboration with the French house after seven successful years. Titled Un Ete Francais ("A French Summer"), the collection is a seamless blend of Parisian chic and Slimane’s signature glam-rock.
Slimane introduces a new character: the Celine girls, who embody sophistication and grace, yet exude an untouchable coolness. They’re dressed in crocheted summer dresses, cashmere cardigans, and checkered bikinis, channeling French icons like Jane Birkin and Francoise Hardy – both of whom are honoured in this collection.
The designs strike a balance between youthful energy, inspired by early 2000s indie culture from Paris and London, and sharp, polished tailoring. Slimane revisits the slingback heel in soft and exotic leathers, while introducing a new line of bags, including a chic wicker option.
