Chanel Gets Hamptons-Romantic With Its Coco Beach Capsule
House muse Vivienne Rohner takes a getaway trip to the Hamptons, all decked out in the Coco Beach summer collection by Chanel.

Imagine, if you will, escaping to the Hamptons. Yes, that fabulous vacation destination for New Yorkers that’s as much a part of the cultural imagination as Manhattan itself. Well, for Chanel and its muse Vivienne Rohner, that locale was the inspiration behind the dreamy campaign photos of the Coco Beach 2023 summer capsule collection.
“I’ve been going every weekend for almost five years,” says Rohner, the star of the campaign who’s evidently a Chanel and Virginie Viard favourite. The model is a regular presence on the French couture house’s runway shows, and the face of several Chanel campaigns. In fact, this Coco Beach campaign is a narrative continuation of the Spring Summer 2023 Pre-collection, which follows Rohner in New York City from the perspective of an insider of the city that never sleeps.
This time around, it’s a vision perhaps of how that New Yorker spends her summer days. Like an intimate portrait – Rohner is herself an avid photographer – the vibe is of a holiday album shot between hammock, pontoon and beach. In all of it, a celebration of Chanel’s take on summer style: house colours of black and white interposed with fun pink in terry cloth outfits and nineties-cut swimsuits; tweed minis and velvet jumpsuits. Basically house signatures tweaked for peak holidaying. “It is a fantasised, movie version of our life,” describes Rohner of the photos, which were shot by her boyfriend Theo Wenner.
And though the Hamptons are a bit further away than a jitney ride, it’s still a fun way to romanticise and imagine a summer. These fun and fancy new pieces from Chanel’s Coco Beach capsule, out now in boutiques, might just help.
