Having picked up the camera as a child (her parents encouraged her to document her surroundings and moments in her life), Taiwanese photographer Chen Yung Hua is a rising name amidst a new generation of young Asian image-makers captivating both the art and fashion worlds with their romantic, nostalgia-steeped portrayals of beauty.
Her fixation: playing with light and shadows to capture emotively not just the female form, but also temperament. Here – in her first-ever editorial for a Singapore publication – she presents her otherworldly vision of feminity inspired by the fluid, drifting state of night-time reverie.
