ORCHARDGATEWAY SPECIAL
The first mall to straddle both sides of Orchard Road, orchardgateway features two striking curved towers linked by a tubular glass bridge. As the shopping district’s only LED-lit overpass, it presents the perfect futuristic photo-op for all your Instagram pics. Or get your “Likes” by posing on the unique 60m-long lighted runway at the ground level, as well as the pop art benches peppered across all levels of the mall.
Trendy dudes should head to the dedicated Men’s Zone on Level 4, which offers head-to-toe options for a boy’s night out. Get a haircut at the retro-chic Premium Barbers, then shop at established bespoke shirt maker CYC The Custom Shop #03-16A (or check out multi-label boutique Actually #03-18 if streetwear is your thing). Complete the look with a pair of stylish kicks at boots specialist Red Wing Shoes.

PHANTACI, #02-05/06
Mandopop king Jay Chou’s fashion label is all about streetwear, but don’t dismiss it as just a celebrity name-tagged label; Chou injects his signature loves, such as his favourite colour pink, into the designs, and is often seen in PHANTACi himself. Fans can celebrate as there’s a huge variety of snapback caps, tank tops, and T-shirts available, all splashed with pop culture references. Plus, numerous collaborations with the big boys of street fashion, such as Nike, New Balance and Puma, will give you major street cred at both fashion bashes and fan meets.
ROSEBULLET EDIT TOKYO, #B1-02/03
This is the place to go if you want to recreate looks from trendy Japanese magazines. The multi-label boutique houses popular Japanese contemporary labels such as rosebullet, anySiS, Feroux and Tabio, condensing the entire Shibuya shopping experience into one shop. Expect to find all the essentials, from socks to cosmetics, to pull off that kawaii look for your festive karaoke sessions.
SECTS SHOP, #04-14
Attending a goth gathering to celebrate the end (of the year that is)? Then fall in at the Sects Shop. Founded and curated by the guys behind local label Depression, the store stocks new-to-Singapore international men’s and unisex streetwear. Conceptualist leanings are apparent in its first-of-its-kind “multi-style” approach, catering to four style tribes identified by the duo: street goth (Depression), urban punk (Killstar, Long Clothing, Underground Shoes), skater (Thrasher) and K-pop (D.GNAK, Nasty Palm, OBH, Sley, Andersson Bell).
STAGE HYALINE OF WORLD, #02-07/08
Right next door to PHANTACi is Stage by Taiwanese singer Show Luo. Drawing from the latest streetwear trends with a basketball-meets-hip-hop aesthetic, the designs are heavy on the graphics, with silhouettes that are loose and contemporary. Hoodies oversized tees, bermudas and sweatpants feature prominently – great for achieving that louche atheleisure look that’s sure to score you points with the cool crowd at that hip block party.
SUPERSPACE, #02-18
Nothing is too OTT here. Think bright colours, large prints and bedazzling sequins, all plastered on the same garment – perfect for all those crazy clubbing all-nighters. A fearless champion of the weird and wonderful, this “space” was founded by Bobby Luo and Ritz Lim, formerly of hip nightspot The Butter Factory, and designers Samuel Wong (Evenodd) and Gilda Su (Revasseur). Discover quirky pieces such as a pair of Star Wars Darth Vader heels from British shoe label Irregular Choice.
SWATCH, #01-01
The Swiss watchmaker’s megastore offers an array of time-telling wonders. Get into the festive mood with the Swatch season’s special model GOD JUL ($140), which comes in a frosty mint green overlaid with snowflake motifs, and makes for a cute Christmas present.
