“Gucci is a culture”, was one of the statements Gucci’s creative director, Demna Gvasalia made in an open letter prior to his anticipated runway debut at Milan Fashion Week. After showing various formats such as a lookbook and short movie for his first ever outing as the Italian brand’s new creative head, the Balenciaga alum staged his first-ever Gucci runway at Palazzo Delle Scintelle, turning the space into a museum where models walked in a spotlighted catwalk and the clothes an exhibition of sorts.

Yet, it wouldn’t be a Demna show without some provocation or “controversy”. Ahead of the show, the brand shared a series of image teasers generated by AI – a bold choice considering the perception of said technology, and one that left the comments section in a frenzy.

As if to remind us of his capability to capture attention in a digital-led era of fashion, his approach proved to be successful – everyone is talking about the new Gucci. Titled ‘Primavera’, this co-ed Fall Winter 2026 collection is a manifestation of his “true vision” for the brand. What exactly is the vision? In his words: a “softer, lighter, more refined Gucci”. Add some ‘90s glam, internet-era aesthetics, and the Georgian designer’s streetwear sensibility into the mix.

Now, let’s jump into the best highlights from Demna’s Gucci Fall Winter show 2026:

THE CLOTHES GO ULTRA-SKINNY

The vibe? Sultry and slightly moody. The clothes? Skin tight (like, really tight) and seamless – or as the designer would define it, “body-aware silhouettes”. The show opened with a minidress in white hosiery fabric, tailored as close to the body as possible. Later, similar silhouettes followed: skinny tops on muscular bodies, hyper sleek jackets, and python embossed trousers. At a glance, the silhouettes resonate sharpness and boldness, but the softness of which Demna previously mentioned comes to shape in the fluid, supple fabric he chose.

GLITZ AND GLIMMER

Gucci’s unmistakable drama is further interpreted into a more modern and sensual take. From sheer two-piece lace sets, to a body-contouring gold dress, and textured jacquard evening gowns, plenty of pieces are drenched in Swarovski sequins that shimmer even from miles away.

GUCCI’S TAKE ON SEXY, DEMNA-FIED

A legendary run from 1990 to 2004 by Tom Ford led Gucci to become virtually adjacent with “sexy”. Demna appears to be approaching the former creative director’s sex-sells attitude with his own streetwear flair. T-shirts are draped in a way that reveal the body, tracksuits are cropped at the waist with open busts, and leggings have cut-outs on the hips. Demna reanimates Tom Ford’s version of sexy with a youthful edge.

Along with reimagined Gucci Bamboo 1947 bags with bamboo-like handles made of leather. and other archival designs tailored to the needs and wardrobe essentials of modern day shoppers, Demna also introduced his first sneakers for the brand: Manhattan. It’s a frankenshoe that combines elements of basketball trainers and the ease of slip-ons – a fitting release for much of what the designer has long been famous for: trendy, sensational sneakers.

A 10-CARAT DIAMOND THONG, FLAUNTED BY QUEEN KATE MOSS

The typical runway format ends with a collective walk of all the looks featured in the collection. However, Gucci took a different path this time, sending Kate Moss out to close the show. The iconic supermodel walked in a black sequinned dress with a low-cut bareback and an iconic GG thong encrusted in 10 carats of diamonds.
