Dior’s Haute Couture Fall Winter 2026 show marked Jonathan Anderson’s sophomore couture outing for the French fashion house, yet it already revealed the remarkable breadth of his vision for the discipline. At Paris’ Rodin Museum, where the show was held on July 6, 2026 during Haute Couture Week, deep green foliage decorated the space, turning the black lacquered grounds into a lush tropical oasis, while offering an early glimpse into a collection woven together by themes of nature and art.

This season, Anderson takes the works of American sculptor Lynda Benglis as the starting point of the collection, “[It] is a response, in the language of couture, to her work,” said the designer. The artist’s bodies of work frequent the exploration of form and femininity, and as Anderson puts it: “...there is something which has got a spontaneous joy. And at the same time, it’s muscular. I think she’s really got this romance in terms of grabbing something and bending it, that makes it so visceral.”

With this collection, Anderson continues his fascination between nature and art, exploring further the boundaries in silhouettes while cementing his vision of Dior, which was unravelled in the 66 looks that blends the designer’s tactility with the artist’s sculptural approach.

References to Benglis’ works can be seen throughout the collection which experiments with embroidery, textiles, and sculptural forms. One of her works infamously used chicken wire to shape abstract sculpture; in the collection, Anderson reimagined this as voluptuous skirts, crafted from soft silver netting and metallics colours that danced with movement and structure.

A standout look from the collection paid homage to the artist’s longstanding relationship with India. Referencing her Peacock series, fan-shaped tulle was stitched onto dresses, completed with embroidery and carefully arranged colours to mirror the original artwork.

Material in motion

Sculptural forms were softened by a sense of fluidity. Think body-skimming silk satin gowns, blousons and skirt separates crafted with delicate layers of ruffles, and featherweight knitted Dior Bar jackets with matching skirts. Some bounced, others flowed; the body was given freedom of movement, mimicking the sway of lush leaves. As Anderson explained, the collection “celebrates this idea of how nature becomes intertwined into design.”

A play of form

Pleats, wraps, and knots all nodded towards Benglis’ techniques, especially in how she “transforms two-dimensional materials into three.” In the collection, this approach showed up in numerous looks, including an asymmetrical top in foiled copper paired with a sharp tailored trouser. Body-cocooning coats and jackets were made with few cuts, leaning into the idea of instinctive gestures by knotting and wrapping. Organic textures meet with precision, striking the collection both technical and primal.

The comeback of Dior’s Arizona coat

One striking look in red nodded to the house’s past. Anderson revisited the original Arizona coat, first created by Monsieur Dior in 1948, and experimented with it. Like the original, it has patch pockets, bow, and flaps, however, the new version was given a sun-pleated treatment, turning the petticoat into something that felt entirely contemporary.

Here comes the bride…

Just days before the couture presentation, news broke out that Taylor Swift’s wedding dress was designed by Jonathan Anderson. While the dress remains under wraps, the designer unveiled a bridal look that eased the anticipation. A delicate, semi-sheer, off-shoulder number with a sweeping train and romantic floral appliques closed out the show, distilling the collection’s dialogue between sculptural form and feminine elegance.
