Recent years have seen Cartier expand its women’s leather goods offerings in a decidedly bold way. Cue the novel Guirlande de Cartier line that takes after the brand’s geometric, garland motif-trimmed jewellery cases launched in 2019.
Or the return of the Must de Cartier bags from the ’70s – distinguished by their burgundy hue and saddle-stitched logo – with generously sized, almost gender-neutral styles earlier this year.
Now the Double C de Cartier, which hit stores recently, firmly cements the French maison as the new destination for truly chic handbags.

A structured, all-leather shoulder bag with clean and simple lines, it’s made of luxuriously smooth calfskin and sized just right for day-to-night essentials.
Its most distinctive feature is its metal clasp in the form of the brand’s wax seal-inspired double “C” logo minus the oval that usually encases the letters, lacquered in the same shade as the bag and strap: black, powder pink, cherry red or fuchsia.
Fans of timelessly French (read: discreet and effortless) elegance will approve of its minimalist, tone-on-tone look.
