"I played with fire quite a bit as a kid," reveals Josh Tirados, the brains behind the emerging fashion label Tirados. "Candles, fireworks – now probably considered arson. I had bonfires during the holiday season back in the Philippines. We don't get to play with fire that much now."

The 25-year-old, who swiftly gained a cult following for his tender and sensuous creations since the launch in May, certainly had numerous outlets for his creativity. Now, he is set to unveil a new capsule, aptly named Sunog, or "fire" in Tagalog, in collaboration with Dover Street Market Singapore (DSMS) for the multi-label retailer's holiday release on Nov 18.

Homegrown fashion label Tirados draws inspiration from pastoral and farm creatures for its limited-edition capsule of bonnets for Dover Street Market Singapore.

The Philippine-born, Singapore-based designer and multi-disciplinary artist will present a limited run of 10 bonnets made from wool, lined with linen, and accented with a burnished handpainted effect along the seams. Tirados draws inspiration from "pastoral humans," "farmer boy," and "doe" for the whimsical designs, some featuring floppy animal ears. The playfulness extends to another feature of the bonnets: the logo imprinted in the lining is water-based, ensuring it will wash off. This aligns with the brand's unconventional approach, as evidenced by its first runway collection, which notably lacked any tags. "We'll see how long I'll keep that," quips Tirados.

Sunog marks DSMS's initiative to collaborate with more Singapore-based creatives and collectives, promoting homegrown fashion talents for special occasions such as the holidays and Tachiagari, which marks the start of the fashion season.
