The style, (re)popularised in recent years by indie labels such as Mansur Gavriel, has always had a whiff of boho off-duty cool about it, thanks to its traditionally slouchy shape. What’s giving it a new sense of artful polish that makes it as appropriate for occasions: Consider Louis Vuitton’s Duffle, a more structured version that replaces the typical drawstring closure with a lock clasp. On the more playful end of the spectrum: Tory Burch’s equally graphic, XL-perforated rendition, and Coach’s Duffle that’s emblazoned with Disney animal patches, studs and a chunky chain sling.
