The Embroidered Sneakers That Are Blowing Up The Internet

Embroidery has weaved its way into streetwear (think souvenir bomber jackets to the patches on denim jeans). Now, it's making its mark on sneakers.

Sneakers have been a mainstay on the streetstyle circuit (see these brands to put on your radar in 2017). How UK-based company Fre Customs is changing the game: By applying embroidered floral designs on popular styles like Yeezys and Nike Air Force Ones in extremely limited quantities (there are usually only about 50 pairs produced per design).

Founded only two months ago, the trio of men behind it - designer Vihan Kakar, marketer Steven Vasilev and artisan Wissam Al Madhoun - have already drawn the attention of men's fashion and streetwear publication Hypebeast. Most of the styles currently on offer are unisex, but sending in your own bespoke designs are also welcome.

Prices may start at a hefty £$250 (S$381), but a single shoe takes up to 40 hours to design - after all, you're paying for something that's labour-intensive and one-of-a-kind. Check out more on their website (they ship internationally) and follow them on Instagram to stay updated.
