In town recently for a S/S ’19 trunk show at Club 21 — his exclusive retailer here — the London-based designer is a favourite among trendy society types for his glamorously romantic dresses. “The collections at the Victoria and Albert Museum constantly inspire me. I also love the Tate Modern and the National Portrait Gallery, while the Maureen Paley in East London is a great gallery for interesting exhibitions and contemporary art.”

“I love (contemporary Scottish painter) Kaye Donachie — her interpretation of women is so powerful. She worked on a new piece for my London store that was recently unveiled in October.”

“I love the period dramas by English production house Merchant Ivory. I used to watch them as a child with my parents and it gives me such a great sense of nostalgia.”
